I am looking to add some lights inside my flow through center console. I plan on using a push button switch so when the lid is open, the lights turn on. Is there any constant power near the center console? If not, I would assume I can tie into the rear 12v power port for keyed power. How do I disassemble the center console to get to the wires? Which is power and which is ground?

 

The center console where the cup holders are will pull up and off giving you access to that area, you can take power from several areas, in the past I've run a new line to an unused fuse and done it that way.

 

Check your power port. My 2006 has power always, so I was able to tap right into it. I have buckets with the free standing console.
