Have been apart of a thread that has been having one hell of a time programming their key. This is exactly how I got my 2005 programmed. (sorry no pics. I didn't think I'd do this.)

Remote:

-Insert key into ignition.
-Turn key off to run 8 times within 10 seconds ending on run.
-This will enter your truck into programming mode. Doors locking will confirm programming mode.
-Within 20 seconds press a button on the remote needing to be programmed. Locks again will cycle to confirm.
-If you have more than one, repeat the last step.
-Turn key to off position to clear programming mode and you should be good to go!
(scobar said it first, extra-partss confirmed)

Chip:

-You need 2 key with chips already programmed.
-Insert one key on for 3 seconds, then off.
-Insert the 2nd key and turn it on for 3 seconds then off.
-With the new key, within 20 seconds, insert the key and start. Your key should be programmed.

-Keys can also be programmed using diagnostic equipment.

That's the steps I had received from extra-partss from eBay. Awesome communication! Also, where I or my key for $23.99 with free shipping.

A1 locksmith cut my key, for free I might add too!

I did have to take my key apart to fit it in their machine. There were 3 screws. 2 lower and one under my "ford" sticker. There are a few parts make sure you don't lose!
Wind the spring when you put it back together!

I did have to cut a chunk out of my ignition cover. Not to bad though.

Hope this helps!
Joe.

Ill try again, but thats the steps I did about 5 times and nothing. Got the door locking part easy but no deal on the chip program. I spoke with them today, and they said they havent heard of any issues, so I told them about all the issues on here and said I would give it another try and even try having my friend at Ford do it and if it doesnt work I guess Ill have to return it.

Do me a favor, open the report and get me a pic. Mine doesn't have the transponder chip in it. This procedure is also listed in the owners' manual.

I went through a different seller than the original poster. But I will when I get a chance!

I just went on ebay and ordered another one from the place JHan got his. 12.95 shipped. so Ill see if I have better luck with that one. For 13 bucks its worth a shot. I can just switch the blade out if it works to save a trip to the locksmith.

I think there is supposed to be a chip here for the PATS system.
