Default Fix for 04+ Intermitent Odometer yet??????

I've searched all over the net and still haven't found a solution. Has anyone managed to find a fix to the intermitent odometer problem for the 04+ F150's??? (I have an 05)

I changed the bulb the other day and it started to work for about 1 day, now it's blank again.

you need a new cluster assembly.

Thanks Atom, that's what i was afraid of. I was hoping that somebody might have figured out some sort of fix similar to the <03's. Guess i'll try hitting up my local wrecker before shelling out $450 from the dealer.

the only good thing about the dealer is they can program the mileage.

Do you know if a dealer will be able to reprogram the mileage on a cluster that I might find from the wreckers?

from what i have been told/heard, they won't do it. when they replace a cluster, the mileage is already programmed in them from the supplier.

What I found odd was that they want my old cluster to send back to the supplier when i buy the new one. I'm only speculating, but this gives me the impression that they might know what is wrong with these things, getting back the ones we send in and repairing them.
They must have gone to the Microsoft school of business, put in enough bugs and it will guarantee that people keep coming back for upgrades and service.

they want it so there is no mileage fraud, so you can't come in with an 04 with 200k miles and say it only had 25k miles...be glad they do that
