Hey all im taking my truck on its first towing trip of owning it. Its about 600 mile trip down to san diego! Very excited to test out my trucks capabilities

Gotts
Flowmaster super 10
Leveling kit

I'll post some mpg update if anyones interested in the towing capabilities of the 04 f150.

 

mpg not gonna suffer to much with just that trailer....but if you plan on putting a car on it.... say hellow to single digit mpgs my friend lol.

 

my truck gets 12.5 towing a standard cab ranger. towed all the way to biluxi ms and back with it 100 degrees and 75% humidity a couple summers ago. i had the same mods as you, gotts and flowmaster. i hope you have trailer brakes.

 

I'll also assume you have the 5.4...check your transmission fluid for clean pinkish color; smell it to make sure it does not have a burnt smell.

 

I towed a 3k trailer and a 4.5k car so 7-8k pounds. Towed it about 300 miles up and down hills i got like 12-13 mpg. No trailer brakes.

 

I have a 5.4 with airaid cool air. Straight pipes and a edge.
