Go on eBay and upgrade to the 2009 + badges, you will be glad you did. You can get the fenders and tailgate badges for like $100. There are a lot of threads regarding them around here. Good luck and welcome to the forum

thanx for the welcome... yeah i have seen the 09+ badges put on these trucks and it does work but i'm keepin this truck as original as i can, (considering a lift and exhaust upgrade) and so i just bought the original replacements for this truck. I just want to know from someone who has aready removed and replaced these what the best way to do it is....

I used a heat gun on my Chevy badges, worked great. I was wondering the same on these trucks before I try it too though...

Heat them up a little bit and use something like fishing line to slide in behind them.

For sure that there are no studs or clips holding them on?

There are tabs that are used for alignment on the back of them.

X2 on the alignment tabs. It is nothing but adhesive holding them on. I used a hair dryer to heat them up a little bit and some fishing line. I also put electrical tape on a screwdriver head to avoid damaging the paint to help pull it away from the body.

I just picked up some 2009+ FX4 bades and I plasti dipped them. I broke the tabs off the back first though. Did I make a mistake by doing that? would they have aligned with the fender holes?
