Default Fail safe mode

I just bought a 2004 f150 with the 5.4 triton in it and since I have bought it it has had the same codes they're a bit scattered and I have no clue where to even start I've checked all the fuses and they were all good but I'm not getting power to the cam sensors I have a code for the fuel pump driver so I went a head and replaced that it won't even start now with the new one I also went along and replaced the camshaft sensors and nothing seems to help it run smoother it goes into fail safe mode and I have no clue where to look any help would be great thank you in advance

First thing, what are the codes? Have you checked for harness damage, or any damage at the connectors at the ECU?

I looked at the connections on all the plugs and they seemed to be okay no noticeable breaks or tears I looked at the connections right onto the PCM and they looked fine as well

check the ground wire associated with the FPDM and make sure you didn't roll the gasket while connecting it. looks like you need a throttle body .. you can pull it and give it a good cleaning but, it's an 04... they are known to go bad. you also need investigate the COP failure... could be just a new set of boots and springs will set you up, I would do plugs while your at it, especially if you don't know when the last tune-up was.

So I can plug the old FPDM in and it'll somehow run i changed it out immediately when I noticed the housing part was broke in half somehow, I'll try taking the throttle body apart and clean that, i did change the coils and that didn't do anything I'm nervous to change the plugs since it is the 5.4 and they are pretty well known for snapping plugs off,I'm just curious why some connectors aren't getting power i know I don't have a good battery into it but with my jumpers hooked to it I'm getting 14.5 volts sitting and about 8-9 volts starting

start with the basics: professionally tested battery and alternator, clean and tighten cables/terminals and grounds (especially fpdm ground and ones under kick panels in cab).

did you check/clean the fpdm ground while there?

providing detailed/complete info will help eliminate 20 questions and help you proceed faster.

lastly, (when diy’ing) it’s usually best to change one variable at a time. otherwise it can become expensive and harder to determine which variable caused what change.

Way too many codes to venture a guess. If you haven't already, clear the codes and see what codes then occur. Maybe the primary culprit will show up then.

Possibly a stupid question, where the heck is the ground on the FPDM? I thought they somehow grounded themselves through the module, still doesn't make sense to me why with the new one installed it won't start the truck but if I plug the old one in and just let it dangle it'll start.

I've cleared them many of times but I still get a bunch of codes I'm thinking if I get a known good battery in it then it'll possibly get rid of some.

Take a look at this photo. You can see the wiring harness for the FPDM and it ground connected to the cross member
