Take the covers from around your steering wheel off. Very easy. I think 2 screws underneath and they come off. Look at your ignition cylinder. There should be an antenna looped around it several times. This is the antenna coming from the PATS bypass. It sends a signal making your truck think the key is in the ignition. if its looped around there and not going anywhere, check the connection from it to the PATS bypass box. But the thing that stumps me so far is that if you hold your key next to the ignition(with in a 1/4 inch), your remote start should work. Check all of the fuses on both module boxes under your dash. See if you can post some numbers off of the boxes.

I'll have to try this when I get home from work. I read an old thread on one of these forums and it said it's either a fuse or the bypass. How hard is it to install a bypass box? Does it need special programing?

It's not hard if you have one wired in. Just swap it out. I think they do need programmed. But it should come with instructions on how to make it learn the signal your key uses. But I think I read somewhere you needed 2 keys. But that might have been to program the remote I don't remember.

It does sound like the bypass module... You can actually put your key in the ignition and then try and restart it to see if it works. If you do get a new PATS it will need to be programmed, but the directions are easy to follow and use. You should be able to just plug and play the new one.
