I have a 08 4x4 crew cab with the 4.6. It still has factory exhaust on it but it's not quiet at all. It has a raspy rumble to it rather than a clean sound. In all honesty it sounds like a clunker. I've checked for leaks and didn't find any. Can anyone tell me what's going on?

 

No ideas huh? Well can someone suggest an aftermarket exhaust that is fairly quiet on the highway?

 

Nothing? Not 1 idea? I'm familiar with flowmaster, borla, corsa, magnaflow, and a few other brands. My question is do any of them make a muffler that isn't as loud as the more traditional ones?

 

Magnaflow will probably be the best for you. They have an 18" and22" that are not too loud, both. In SI/SO or SI/DO. The 22" will be a very quiet idle, with just a low sound on acceleration. The 18" will give you a nice low rumble at idle, and a very nice sound on acceleration.

 

i'd say magnaflow to...super quiet on the highway but loud if u jump on it and a nice deep tone

 

I'm happy with my flowmaster. Cab drone is minimal but talks pretty good on acceleration.

 

Thanks a lot guys. That's exactly what I was looking for. I've always been a flowmaster man myself, but I'm really enjoying my cab silence in this truck. Sounds like I'm going with the magnaflow
