Just watch those vids on YouTube. That guy will give you better info than anyone. He has a whole website full of info and will make it so you can make in informed decision. It's not that scary. If its in good enough shape and it will probably have everything done but studs.

6.0s are good engine it's just the injectors and the high pressure oil pumps that go bad and that's not really that often. We have a fleet of 05s at my shop and there upwards of 500k miles

We have a 2005 E350 with the 6.0 engine. We bought the ambulance with only 50,000 miles on it. But 60,000 we had already dropped 8000 on injectors and at 125000 the heads cracked and had to drop 16000 on a new one from Ford. the Turbo had to be replaced and when the dealership installed the engine they stretched the Transmission harness and a wire broke causing the TCC issues and burned up the transmission. 1600 bucks later we have a rebuilt tranny ( 5r110w ) and had a heavy duty torque converter and shift kit put in it. I would love to do the EGR delete, but the dealership said it would void our 2 yr unlimited mile warranty on the engine. How stupid is that.

Now with that said, until they get all the gremlins out of the 6.0 I WILL NOT buy another one. I wish that they would bring back the 7.3... Funny how they install them in new vehicles overseas, but won't allow them to in the US. Go figure...

It's because the 7.3 smokes like a freight train. All your gremlins are known and ways to fix them are out there. It's up to the owner doing it....

None of my 7.3s smoke. The only time they do is when the injector orings are burnt..
