I have a 2006 Ford F 150, 5.4 L. My control switch for my heater functions is intermitent. Sometimes it will work on defrost, sometimes on the pannel, sometimes on the feet etc etc. My locat Ford dealer tells me that you can't buy just the switch in the dash. Does anyone have any ideas on what is going on here. There is snow on the ground and I need my HEAT. LOL.

i have an 07 that overall functions well except for when i have it on the defrost and feet it will intermittently cut in and out. but all other locations works properly. i thought maybe i was the only one but i guess not.

 

If you have the manual, the Dealer is correct... the switch for location and temp is soldered to the board... the only switch replaceable is the fan control. I took my old one apart to see if I could figure out how to wire heated mirrors from it... got the case apart... 10 secs later put it right back together...nothing I could do... went to ebay and bought me a new one...
