Explanation/Help needed with Offset
Ok so i'm looking at rims. What is a good offset to have. I'm hoping to put 35 x 12.5 x 18 mud graps. i want a at least an inch or two sticking outside the fender so what offset can achieve this.
offset is easier to find but it's relative to the width of the rim so i like to go with back spacing... are you lifted or just leveled? if leveled, you could go with 4.5-5 inches of back spacing on 8 or 9 inch rims and have a bit stick out... you could go as much as 5.5 inch of back spacing if you wanted them tucked in more but the more backspacing the mre chance you'll rub on the control arms... if you're lifted, you might have to sick with 4.5" of backspacing to clear the steering knuckle.
also... that will only work with a 4wd. on a side note, look at the actual dimensions of the tire you want. some are actually a bit different than the size on the side ex. nitto 35x12.5's are more like 13.5" wide and it would be difficult to make them not rub without a very small amount of backspacing and a lift
These Rims are what i'm considering.
Offset = -19mm
18x9.5, 6 on 135mm Bolt Pattern
Backspace = 4.5in.
My truck 2.5 inch leveling kit, 4wd, red scab, 06. Planning on wrapping them in 35 12.5 18 mud graps
Sorry i didn't give more info in the first place

don't know too many people with 9.5" wide rims... you "may" have some minor rubbing on the splash guard near the door or the bumper valance. i used a wood chisel to trim mine... took some time but it looks like those pieces came like that from the factory.

I think with 4.5 inches of back spacing and minor trimming you'll be fine but just to remind you... those tires are 13.39" wide the 33's will be completely fine and look nice but obviously not look like a 35
