Default Exhaust

I have an 06 5.4L and have barely started to fix it up and first thing i want to do is put an exhaust, but what would be the best thing to do to get the best sound and at a better price, put a dumped exhaust underneath, or purchase some straight pipes? whichever one it is about how much should each run?

Thanks!!

There are a lot of different opinions.

Check out youtube for a few hours, then check out prices.

With straight pipes you may have less drone than just dumped. I like the sound with the cats in place but the mufflers taken out and y'd off and run out the back somewhere.

In my opinion there is no point for paying for for a little more quietness. 2 1/2 in pipe w/ 4 inch tips is what I got. Coming out on the corner of my bumper..

I've used flowmaster on all my older fords. Just got my 08 and have really been considering 3" pipes and Borla mufflers out the rear after spending some YouTube time. All in all you've got to figure out what you like for the money you are willing to spend.

straight pipe in place of stock muffler for starters if you want it really sound good and pocket some money....it's what I have and wouldn't waste the money on overpriced catback systems.

Give it a shot, trust me you won't be dissappointed!

Flowmasters are for slow Mustangs who need the noise to feel fast

I may of failed to mention my previous vehicle was a 95 ranger with a 2.3. Making it loud was really the only option I had lol

^This or Magnaflows will be the cheapest, best sound. If you want to spend a little more Borla is the way to go.
