Does anyone know how to replace injectors if possible describe in detail perhaps it may answer for a lot of people like me with noisy injectors. I'd like to tackle this problem, researched around and an injector cost roughly around $25-30 each, i don't mind buying a whole set. It's just the replacing part that i am unsure how to do. Thanks

I heard new ones will be loud like stock ones? Any clarity on this? I'd buy new ones too if they are quiet but I thought it wasn't worth it...

My '05 5.4L has sounded like that from mile 0.0 & now has 148K with no ill effects. My son is a service manager & my other son is a vetern ford tech & both say its the nature of the beast. Its just the sound a 5.4L makes. Ever listen close to a diesel engine????

It's diagnosed as injector tick... Other than that the engines aren't that loud...

From what I have read is that, if the cam phasers are not bad, and the truck is still making the tapping noise, than it is entirely possible that it is your VCT solenoids (Variable Cam Timing)

Agreed, my 06 SCREW has the same issue. It's been like that for so long, that I don't really pay any attention to it anymore...that is until my wife says my truck sounds like S**T and I have to remind her that it is normal and runs great. By the way, she drives a GMC Sierra.

Yea or drive along a building, wall, or jersey barrier....

Yea I think most 06,07, and all 08's have only the injector tap, phasers and other things were resolved

My 08 same thing. It goes tick tick tick. I thought it was the belt. When it shifts at high rpms it makes an earrit kinda noise lol just sound out the word and you'll be making the noise.
