Default Engine swap

So recently my 06 f10 4.6L has had a terrible knocking sound and I took it in and they said it was a cam phaser and the only way to fix it is to get a new engine. So I was looking around and saw a guy had done a engine swap from a 4.6L to a 6.2L out of a raptor and I was wondering how hard would it be to do a swap like that or even put a 5.4L in it? How much would a guy have to change?

You sure you want to go that far? You definitely don't need to swap the whole engine just for a cam phaser issue unless the engine is for sure ruined. That's easily the #2 thing discussed in the 2004-2008 section (#1 is plugs).

If not needed swapping what would you all have to do to fix the cam phasers?

Well for one, the 4.6L doesn't even have cam phasers, so you may want to reconsider your choice in mechanics...

Moved to 2004-2008 and made the title more specific.

Does the f150 have a different version of the 4.6 vs the mustang?
