Default Engine problems?

When I hit the accelerator, my motor gives out at least ten times while trying to go max speed.. Could it be missing really bad and I need s tune up? Or could it be because I'm running the truck with no muffler and no pipe coming out the back? The pipe stops under the cab my muffler broke off and I haven't replaced it yet

It's probably a misfire. Check plugs, cops, boots, and the wires feeding the cops for breaks or chaffing.

My 2006 ran fine until I would floor it to pass. It would back fire and sound like it was running on 6 cylinders. If I accelerated slowly it ran great. It was the plugs. Put new ones in and it runs great.

When I lost my muffler and pipe, just the Y pipe left, couldn't afford to replace it yet, it started back firing. Ran great if you eased on the gas, no guts trying to pass. Then when I put a muffler back on, found out the mis fires busted up a cat, so I had to fix that, too. Changed plugs and everything is great. Just be careful with the mis fires, it gets a little pricey changing cats.
