Default engine miss during acceleration

recently when accelerating I encountered a miss in the engine - the warning light in the lower left (looks like an engine) flashed. I pulled to the side of the road - waited a moment - reved the engine slightly - it went away and I continued on. Anybody got any ideas 2005 F150-XLT- 106500 miles - 5.4 engine - throttle block has been replaced about 6 months back

We had that issue in an '06. I went to Autozone and got the codes checked, we had a misfire in one of the cylinders and the ignition coil was gone. $75 and 2 hours later it was fixed. Nice easy job.

Good luck! Usually a coil or injector. I've been dealig with this issue for the last two months after a dealership spark plug change.

90% of the time is the #4 (rear pass side) coil... it gets wet from the A/C and that causes early failure. I replaced mine a few years ago....took the motor out and rebuilt it....move the replaced coil to a new spot...and wala on the way home the other night a miss again... under load...idle was fine..... no check engine light either... took it to see if there was a code and the light was out....light was fine, but there was a #4 misfire.... I'll replace that coil again and all will be good!
