That guage is just on on/off
oil pressure or not

cam phasers, chain tensioners, lash adjusters need over 25 psi hot. the heads have pots you can put an oil pressure guage on. you should be able to rent them or have your mechanic check it out.

for the hell of it, spin a new filter on too. They can fail.

Even the mech said its normal...it's just condensation buildup on the cap....no water in the oil...it just did it again when I went to advance to get oil which they were conveniently out of...when I put it in reverse to leave it died...when I started it back up there was no noise....was ticking like crazy before it died...

He is right have seen many crank bearing failure causing loss of oil pressure

Did you catch my tip to listen thru the oil filler and see if the sound is in there? that will indicate upper end noise which can be,
Phasers, rockers, lash adjusters, chains, guides.

Next step if you hear this is to check oil pressure at the heads.

If thats ok, you can check the solenoids, the screens can become damaged, look closely.

Im going to put money on a lash adjuster/rocker OR Timing set problem (phaser or tensioner/guide)

Get a pressure guage and check it. You must follow all the steps to find the problem. Internet can be powerful, but one guys problem is not another guys problem.

Thorwing parts at it based on google and forum searches will get very very expensive.

Listen for the source of the sound thru the oil cap. Let me know from there and I will help you proceed.
