Default Emblems

Searched ebay for black emblems and found one for like 25$

Could i just get two black overlays for cheaper for my grill and tailgate?

Also my emblems right now are all bubly and peeling where my truck has sat in the weather for so long, will i need to sand all of it down first then apply the overlay?

Link me to the best sites to get them from, thanks also pics of yours

I can't remember the name of the company off the top of my head but I remember on my 97 I had an overlay on my front and rear badges and it had the ford logo cut out of it so it would show through. I'll try and find the company in one of my old threads and see if they can't help ya out with what you're looking for

Mine were the same way. I scraped off all the bubbling, then soaked in acetone to clean off the rest. It got rid of all the blue because at first I was planning on polishing them shiny, but I didn't like it much and just plasti-dipped them flat black. Looks great to me.

I just ordered a black with chrome lettering one for my tailgate. It cost me 40 bucks with shipping off EBay. Not the cheapest thing to do, but I loved the way it looked!

It's pouring down rain here right now so these pictures aren't the best but you get the idea.
Front and back done in black plastidip. Can't tell in the wet and dark but you can still make out the Ford lettering pretty good in nicer weather.

Sides done with a smoke plastidip. About 6 coats to get this dark. The more you add, the darker they go.

Did both of mine last weekend. Soaked in paint thinner to remove all the blue, sprayed a few coats of plastidip then took paint thinner and qtips to clean the plastidip off the ford letters. Turned out great for about 10 bucks. Looks a lot better than the old faded look!
