Default electrical problem?

Hey guys! I've done some searching on here and can't seem to find an answer to my problem. I have a 2005 F-150 with a 5.4. Whenever I start it, the truck will keep turning over, not like the battery is weak, just turns over 5 or 6 times before it fires up. Once it starts, all the gauges hang all the way to the left for a minute, my 6 disc CD player will cycle through all 6 discs and my radio goes to AM. Once its finished with this cycle everything is fine and truck runs great. Its really driving me crazy!! Hopefully someone can point me in the right direction of whats going on. Thanks!

My in-law's Focus did the same thing when the battery was weak. It would still start, but the 6 disc player would cycle through all discs and reset (except the clock - it would retain time). We tested the battery, replaced it and was good to go. Even though the battery could start the car, the voltage dipped too low. I could see it in the indicator lights and such while cranking (didn't even need a voltmeter to tell). It was also the original battery past 6 years haha.
