Default loose solder on instrument cluster

I have an 06 f150 turns out it is a loose solder right behind the odometer, took 1/2 an hour to repair.
I hope this helps

I was thinking this could be a possibility. The cht sensor didn't help at all. My only concern was taking the needles off and getting them back on correctly. Any pics if your repair?

I wasn't smart enough to take pictures.
I pulled the cluster out took the 7 small screws out of the back, took the plastic cover off and searched a broken solder, I had a loose solder connection on 1 of the 3 pins on the left side of the odometer.
I will pull it apart again on the weekend to check it again and post pictures.

Oh OK, I don't know why but was thinking it wasn't accessible from the back. I may check mine out this afternoon and see if I can see anything. My odometer light doesn't work either though the bulb is good. Maybe I can at least fix that. Thanks for the lead on yet another possibility.

Well, I've narrowed it down to the right side of the cluster. I can flick or wiggle the connector and my odometer flickers. I still don't know if its the connector or a solder joint.

My problem got worse today after figuring out the connector seemed loose on top of the gauges. I got the ldc to light up which I haven't seen in a few years, but once the gauges drop out the odometer doesn't read. But, today I couldn't get the gauges to reset more than a couple of minutes. So, I ended up using a GPS speedometer app on my phobe to get me home. I'm going to pull the cluster apart, again, tomorrow and check around the odometer. Im just shooting in the dark.

As I mentioned in an earlier reply, the quickest, cheapest and headache free fix is to find another instrument cluster from a used parts or scrap yard. I spent a lot of time and money trying fix what ended up being a simple fix.

I have had this gauge and warning light problem in my 2006 F150 for about a year, new battery, good alternator. I hit the dash and all goes back to normal. My mechanic cleaned all cconnections to cluster yesterday. Still not fixed, he suggested replacing clustsr.

Default same issue with more

So I have the same issue in my 2006 F 150 5.4 with the added feature that the interior lights like to work on their own terms. Just wondering if there are any conclusive fixes for this. I've read almost all the posts. Some are saying change battery and or alternator while others are saying the dash cluster. Has anyone figured out exactly what it is that is causing the problem, Let me know if anyone has before I start tearing my dash apart, please.

As there seems to be a lot of people with the same issues, has Ford ever done a recall

i have a similar issue with 2005 F150 4.6L
odometer numbers went away shortly after the battery was replaced. then the doors would relock when pulling away from a stop.
i pulled the cluster, all solder looked good. reinstalled & it all worked.
then after truck sat for a couple weeks, the battery was too low to start. after charging the battery, the odometer backlight was gone but numbers still intact.
just this morning while driving the needles were dropping to zero & warning lights came on & heard a chime. it corrected itself but odometer is now dark with no numbers.
