Default Electrical issue? warning light come on and gauges stop working while driving.

Hey everyone,
I have a 2006 f150xlt 4.6L. Truck has been good to me with no issues except for the past few months. Perodically while driving the truck will beep then the gauges stop working and all the warning lights on the left side of the dash will come on. The truck works fine....but this issue only happens once and a while and last for a few minutes until they come back on again. Any suggestions of probable causes?
Thanks

Original battery? Your described symptoms have come up before, and it can be a sign of a battery that is not accepting a charge.

Have the charging system checked (I.E. Battery, and alternator). Chances are, one of these two (or in rare cases, both) are in need of replacement.

Thanks for the suggestion, I'll get them both checked!

What was the final cause of your problem? I am having this problem along with ABS sensor problem, 4x4 lights flashing and airbag sensor bad. Took truck to the stealer and they replaced the PCM under warranty and also replaced the fuel pressure regulator. Got it home and still having the same problems. I have the original battery so may change it out next. Doesnt make sense tho if the battery or charging system is bad then eventually the battery would go dead. I've been dealing with this problem for several months and the battery still starts the truck. Any input from the experts would be greatly appreciated.....

Vehicles these days are so picking about voltage the entire system has to be working correctly. The battery needs to be able to hold a constant 12.4v and the alternator needs a constant 13.5+v to keep all the computers happy. A failing alternator with an AC wave that is too strong can reak all kinds of havoc on a vehicle. Test the battery. Test the alternator.

Repalced the battery yesterday and still having the same problems. The alternator is putting out 14 volts. What else can I check regarding the alternator? From what I understand the voltage is DC???? Only AC has a sine wave. DC voltage is straight line...???

OK...for anyone else that ends up having this problem I am going to post what I found so they can possibly fix their own truck. As I mentioned my truck was having dash gauge issues that started with the ABS and Brake lights coming on. Then the dash would completely go haywire with all the gauges dying and the lights on the dash flashing. Since this all started with the ABS lights I decided to pull the wiring harness thats connected to the ABS module and maybe drive the truck with the ABS disconnected. Well when I pulled the connector the connection was soaking wet and there where several badly corroded connections....keep in mind there are over 30 wires in this connector. Gonna drive it for few days and see what happens but I am guessing I wont be having the dash issues anymore. Now I need to start figuring out how to replace the wiring harness....YUK!!!

I am having the same problem also. Truck drove fine today for my 50 mile commute. When I shut it off and opened the door, the radio would not turn off. Started happening after driving through recent heavy rain here 2 days ago. I had the battery replaced yesterday and the alternator tested fine. Hopefully someone will respond with a solution.
