Default Electric fan conversion??

Hi everybody,

found a taurus fan e kit that was on a supercharged 302 stang, and delivered more than adequate ventilating. Are these good to go for our trucks? mine is an 08 STX.

I just think the troyer performance are really overpriced and require the mounting bracket, due to the pin holders causing damage to the radiator over time with leaks. I looked at durale as well....

what would be the best taurus year to get an e-fan off of???

The Taurus fan would hardly be "good to go" for our trucks I imagine. Idk how you would mount them but if your getting a good price on them it's certainly worth a shot.

Honestly I think you would have an easier time getting the e-fans off of a Lincoln F150 or a 09+ F150.

I'm not sure the problems you've heard about the Troyer but I've never heard anything bad about them personally.

I haven't heard anything bad about troyer, except the mounting brackets they use are actually pins that go into the radiator later on causing leak issues. Besides the damn kit costs $400 +., I looked at another site where they installed a e fan from a taurus into a 302 stng supercharged and it never had problems... ALLEGEDLY, just what I read.

taurus e fan priced out was $55.00
But I didnt consider the one of a Lincoln will definitely look into that. Does the 09' fit into the 08'?????

Here is a quote to a write up from Blown Ford. He did an excellent job on his conversion using fans from a 2010 F150.....

here is a thread I did on the install of the Motorcraft fans (original equipment on the 2010 F150) on our 04-09 trucks. Its a nice clean install with low draw on the electric system. I did a thread on this site but can't find it and couldn't edit it for details as I learned a few things so this one is up to date and should prove helpful to you.

I have done a couple e fan conversions on vehicles, not f150s, but it seems the fans from most front wheel drive cars will flow enough. I have used Honda and Mitsubishi stock e fans in projects before, it is just a matter of mounding them. I agree that the stock fans from 2010 f150 sound like the best option.

I've also considered this, i found some good 16" fans on ebay with lifetime warranty's for $30+ shipping. There is also the wiring for almost the same price.
My plan was to get 2, hook them separately in case one died the other was independent and would allow me to limp home.
