Default Edge Screen Going Blank

Well I bought my Edge off of craigslist about 6 months ago for a great deal. It was working perfectly fine and great for some time but then after a while when I started my truck it would light up but the screen would be completely blank. So I would unplug it and plug it back in, that usually fixed the problem. About a week ago it went blank like it does sometimes and I did just that, unplug/plug back in, but still blank, The backlight is on, but it shows nothing. So I let it chill and after a week its still blank every single time. I'll unplug the back of the unit then back in, sometimes I'll try unplugging the OBDII port and then back in but still there is nothing. Any suggestions? I don't have a mini USB port to plug it into my comp but I will probably pick one up tomorrow hoping that may solve it. Has this issue happened to anyone else? I'm just about to get my intake and exhaust then send it out for some custom tunes, is it completely F'ed or whats the deal. I feel like the day it went blank it was really hot out and the sun was right on my dash and on my edge when it went all crazy.

I know this is going to sound crazy, I was a bit skeptical myself. But thanks to Keeblerz28, he recommended changing out my battery months ago. I was skeptical as I said, but this winter it got colder than usual, and sure enough my bettery showed it when cranking my truck. Had it tested, bad battery. I changed it out and haven't had a problem since, edge works perfect. Keep in mind, it did this crap for a year, and hasn't done it since I changed my battery. Might be something to check into

BTW, Thanks to Keeblerz28, you were exactly right about the battery being the problem with my Edge product's screen going blank while cranking the truck. Just to let every other Edge ownere out there know about this instance. You the man!

I have read that the edge works as a great battery monitor like that... x2 on checking out the battery...
