Another question... Do the settings stay if I unplug the programmer and mail to php to get custom tunes?
the settings will stay, but before to get custom tunes having your edge reflashed, the suggestion will be to put it back to stock , program 0, so you dont loss the original program of the truck.
you dont need to have the edge plugged it all the time for it to work.

coming from an spanish speaking country, i guess we use more the term 'simple rule of third' instead of 'proportions'....

Perfect, thanks for the help! Just to make sure, I don't have too much to worry about with the lean issue with the 4.6?

Another question.. Sometimes the truck stalls when slowing to a stop, what could be causing this and what settings should I change?

Glad I saw this thread. I purchased my truck and it has a K&N filter and some type of intake system. It also has the Edge programmer. I put it back to stock, just in case, when I purchased it.

Is there a way to know if the tunes on it are already adjusted for the air intake system?

Is your edge grey and have the Edge logo's on it? If so its stock (original tunes from edge)

If you send your programmer to php for custom tunes they change the faceplate on it to a solid black one, and it is now called a Gryphon.

Gryphon = PHP tuned Edge

Even with the intake, running a stock edge programmer on any level tune wont make matters worse, it just wont help with the lean condition. (there is A TON of debate about if there is a lean condition and if its harmful). However, a custom tune from PHP is a good way to account for the intake as well as any other mods you may have.

If you do send your programmer to them for tuning ALWAYS return your truck to stock to make sure you dont loose your stock tune, its $75 at the dealer to fix it.

Looks like stock to me. I'll look into it more. Ideally I would like to go back to a stock intake. Does that make me crazy?
