Question EDGE Power Programmer

Thinking of ordering a new programmer since my crappy ex stole my flashpaq, truck still has chip but I can't change it. Does anyone have the Edge and if so how do you like it. I heard the 3rd setting is useless because your transmission won't handle it. Thinking of throwwing that edge programmer on, a throttle body spacer, and a cold air intake. Let me know what ya think

Agreed, get the Gryphon instead and use the money you would have wasted on the TBS and cove the little extra $$.

the edge is a great programmer. aside from all the little luxuries it has, it adds a lot of power and IF you can keep your foot out of it, it does give you better gas milage. (i went from 17 to 20). in the 1/4 mile, it'll shave about half a second off.

and about the transmission problems. right now im sittin at 42,000 miles and im on my second one. theres a place in arizona called premier transmissions and they can get you a high performance rebuild for around $1800.

i would recommend buying the edge to anyone, but be careful what you do with it.

As I suggested get the gryphon. It is a custom tuned edge from PHP. The PHP tune writer is Bill C. who came from edge. He has made the edge custom tunable which makes it worth buying and added the ability to do some datalogging.
If you are going with an edge style tuner do it right the 1st time and get a tuner custom for your truck.

I've been running an Edge for about a year and a half, bought it to adjust speedometer for the taller tires and to adjust the shift point's to help when towing. I leave it on Level 2 and run 87 octane gas. Help's me get a little better gas mileage about 16-18 hwy which is great for the mod's I have. The Edge can later be re-badged as a Gryphon and get the custom tunes to go with it. I put about 25k miles on the truck and the only problem is when my original battery went out. This will drive the programmer nut's! One of these day's I probably will go to custom tunes for it just to see the difference.
