Default Edge Operating System Requirement

What Windows Operating System is requires to update my Edge Evolution programmer? I have a mac, but its not compatible with the Edge Update so before I buy a windows os I wanna make sure.

I picked it up used last night, and it is a little bit older, so I want to get it updated before too long. Im not sure how much the other owner kept it up.

I also checked Edge's website but all I could find is that its not compatible with mac.

Thanks

Probably win xp and up like everything else...

IMOP buying an OS only for the update is silly, get your hands on a vista or win7 iso and install it. You get like 3 days before you need to activate. Update your tuner and move on. Unless you are planning on going with vmware fusion or parallels.

My 2 cents.

SCT also isn't compatable with MAC and most customers I get who use MAC regularly either just borrow a friends PC laptop to update their tuner or some use a PC emulator on their MAC. No idea how they do it but good number of done it successfully.

Ya, a guy at work offered to let me use his. I hate to use other peoples stuff like that. Plus I plan on getting a php tune in next month or two and I got in touch with them and that isnt mac compatible either.

Sco- Just not sure how that would with running bootcamp, I do agree it is a waste of money that could to other places. I was also thinking of buying a used pc laptop cheap and then having a computer to travel with.

I've not used any mac software, but I would assume it is similar to virtualbox/vm player/hyper-v, etc in terms of install so technically you could build it as needed....

Windows of course. I have 8, works fine, 7/Vista/XP did too. Just borrow someone's, use public library/Internet cafe or don't update it.. Changes absolutely NOTHING. Good to have done, I guess though...? Did it for first time in year and a half, took 20 minutes and changed nothing. Definitely wouldn't buy a laptop or PC just for that though!!

Edit: At bottom of Installer, it said something abut MAC users. Let me bring it up and see if it had an alternate way for you or just said "SOL", lol.

Ok. My parents have a laptop I can have, it has windows xp, I downloaded the Fusion software from the Edge site and got a log-in. I got to the point where it says to plug the device in to launch. I plug the edge in and it does nothing, I tried to restart the computer and had the same thing happen. I tried to plug the edge in then start the software and same thing. Any help would be great.

Im a little confused because on the Edge site it says the Fusion software is for CT/CTS. Maybe I downloaded the wrong software? Not sure, Any help would be great....

i figured it out. There are a few steps you have to complete through Windows for it to work.

There is a tutorial on the Edge website.

Its the last one...Titled Fusion Instructions...
