Yes, PHP converts Edge and can then install custom tunes, and yes you can set tire/wheel size as well as differential gear ratios.

 

Sure, you will be able to get tunes whenever you want, and yes, for a fee. 50-75 bucks per tune seems to be the norm from what I've seen; although, if I'm not mistaken, I believe I may have heard PHP stopped doing custom tunes for those Edge programmers, but don't hold me to that. Regardless, there are still other companies out there who do it.

No, that is correct - you can input a tire size with that tuner. I was just trying to give an example of a custom tune and the significance of them vs a pre-loaded one. They take all things in consideration to build the "right" tune for your personal vehicle and its particular modifications.

 

Only for the cs and CTS they still do the one that looks like the gryphon also you do have a good point however the canned tunes do make a noticeable difference. I say try the Canned tunes first and if you feel you need or want more power then get a custom tune. I will be getting a custom tune soon but the lvl 2 tune is great gave my 4.6 an added kick and made her much more fun to drive

Does having a cai with a edge evo make your truck run to lean because I thought I read somewhere that it does?

 

I have had one on my 08 4.6 for almost a year now with no problems but I have heard this is a common problem with the 5.4

 

Some discussions of the CAI/lean issue say that is to do with [some CAI] relocating the MAF sensor.

If you have concerns with that, and are not going for a certain "look" under the hood, just do the "gotts-mod". Same effect as a mega-$$ CAI, at a tiny fraction of the cost, without relocating the MAF sensor.
