I agree with him. With the money you save buying the edge elsewhere you will spend on the extra 90$ if you do 3 tunes, plus it won't say edge once it's a gryphon.

I looked very heavily at these, Gyphon particularly (I actually called them and talked with them at they were not sure I'd really see a benefit with my normal use), about a year ago. However, I could not get hard data that I would be able to recover my cost in the 1st year based on increase in fuel mileage. If memory serves if I could see an across the board increase of 2 mpg I'd save the cost with in the year. So my question for you is where are you getting over 16 and what's your setup?
I have an 05, FX4 5.4 on stock 18" with 3.73 and a hard tonnue cover. I drive 5 miles each way stop and go in town and only see highway occasionally. However, my speeds "around town are at 40 to 50, i.e. at 40 I am in 3rd turning 1700 - 1800 at 45 I am turning 1100-1200. If I could get the engine to set down to 1100-1200 and hold line pressure vs upshifting it would most likely save me quite a bit. My mileage is as follows:
In town - 10.5 to 11.5 summer 9.5 to 10.5 winter (more idle time)
Highway - Best ever 16mpg (long distance staying at or under 70 and not letting cruise control down shift hard), can get 15 mpg when I am a good boy (keeping speed down near 70 - 72 and county back roads with 55mph speeds doing 60ish for majority of the time), normally 13 - 14 (blasting down the highway at 72-75 using the go pedal to get around slow pokes on highway and in back road passing zones).
I'd like to get real world data so I can make an informed decision, and one that makes sense.

Well when I got my truck it got 13.5 mpg average but I've done a few things since. It was initially on 18 inch rims with a wider than stock tire. I bought 20's but put them on the stock size tire at stock width (Michelin ltx ms2 which advertised increased fuel economy and keep them at 40 psi). I then did the gotts intake mod, added an amsoil high flow air filter, and did magnaflow exhaust. My mpg was now at about 14 average. With the addition of the edge programmer my mpg went to about 16 mpg. I drive mostly highway about 75:25 (highway:city) about 60 miles per day. I take a road about 12 miles at 50mph and then the highway at 70 mph about 18 miles. The addition of the gryphon custom tunes increased my mpg to about 16 to 16.5 but the power is what I've really noticed, it's much more responsive and that's why I got custom tunes. I recently drove to the keys and did about 350 miles highway and 60 in stop and go traffic and got 17.5 mpg! You're average of 10 seems like something is totally off! Please keep in mind I drive very conservatively when maintaining these mpgs. While towing I get about 13 and if I tromp the pedal alot it can drop to 14 easy.

I'm looking into getting an Edge so if I buy one from PHP does it come with the 3 regular settings plus their 3 custom tunes? Also how much do they run from PHP and does it also come with the holder for the dash? Thanks!
