Default Edge Evolution COMM GEAR question

I have my edge showing the COMM gear that I am in. I am on stock tune just using the edge as a display. My question is what is the little lock symbol that shows up on it for. Mine shows up when I am driving about 45mph and lightly increase peddle pressure. It stays on there till the truck finally downshifts then goes away and once I let off it comes back. When I am putting a little pressure on the gas peddle the truck sort of vibrates a little while the lock is showing...whats the idea?

I had the same question, and did a google search for it, but I will be nice and save you the hassle, just next time run a search please.

It is showing you that your torque converter is locked.

Thats what I figures but why is it hesitant to unlock when slowly pushing the peddle, shouldnt it unlock as soon as i put pressure on the gas? Thanks for the reply I did search but couldnt find anything

It only drops when it needs to apply more torque than it can handle or if it going to down shift. You actually get better mileage while it is locked and there is zero slippage. So if it it is going to strain your engine it will unlock if not it won't. PCM's are a wonderful thing.

Yea that just indicates torque converter lockup. Gets better gas mileage and is less stressful on your engine and transmission when it's locked like that. You have it in third and fourth gear.
