Default Edge evo programmer

For all of you guys that have the edge evo on the 5.4, is it worth the money? Or if you have a different programmer what do you have and is it worth it? I'm thinking about getting one but I'm not sure about it yet. Any input you guys have would be great thanks!

Hell yes its worth it. Turn the timing up by .25, set the shift firmness to your liking, and feel what 100% WOT feels like with a little fuel bump. No more throttle limiter so its way more responsive. I just fixed mine and it drives awesome, shifts way faster.

MHOWELL - Will you share your settings? Just got one but still kind of shy to mess with it too much. Changed the tires, gear setting and been in Tow Mode (2) but not sure what to do with shift firmness, timing, etc.

Well i used my same Superchips shift firmness seems pretty much the same, i like to feel my shift, its not to hard but not to soft and lazy.

For 1-2 i use 14,
2-3 and 3-4 i use 12.

Timing +.25

WOT Fuel (Still experimenting with this) +1.19

Tire size for 275x70r18 is 2600mm to be pretty much dead on for my BFG's.

Max RPM 5500

Shifting RPM
1-2 MAX RPM 5200
2-3 MAX RPM 5100
3-4 MAX RPM 5000

14 on the shift bet that throws you back in the seat eh? I had mine at 12 and thought I was gonna busy the mounts so I dropped it back down to 10 plus my girl didn't care for it to much haha. Still kinda nervous to play with it I didn't mess with WOT bit I put my timing at .50 ( I'm running 89 octane by the way) I'm just worried that if I mess with it to much it'll fry the computer. And I think I have it dialed in for my driving style now anyway she's allot of fun to drive now.

How much of a difference do you feel between .25 and 50 timing?

i had the edge evo on my sierra and i thought it was the best tuner out there until i got a custom tune using efi live and man it was totally different and it costed about the same as the evo. IMO i would go with SCT and get the custom tune because price is relativly the same and you will have better performance with the custom tune. But there is nothing wrong with the EVO at all it will defiantly be better than a stock tuned truck and you can read and clear engine codes.
