Default ECM Failure?

I have a 2004 F150. I was driving it with the cruise set. As I was coming down a hill the truck shut down. Check engine light came on along with safe mode light (wrench). It has power for the radio, windows, lights, ect. But when you turn the key, you get absolutly nothing. Took it to the local Ford dealer and they "think" it's the ECM but aren't 100% positive. Has anybody out there had this problem? If so how did you handle it
Thanks

Im not an expert but a major problem with the 04 is the fuel pump module located on the frame rail by the spare tire. Do a search and you will see. It rest on the rail and rusts a hole right through the circuit board.

ECM??? Ford has a Powertrain Control Module (PCM) but I was unaware of any ECM (Electronic Control Module) used on our year trucks.

Yes it is the PCM. Most searches group ECM, ECU and PCM altogether
