Default ECC question about airflow.

My '05 Lariat has the electronic climate control. When I first start it and turn the temp to anything above ambient temp on "Auto", no air comes out of the vents for a while. I don't know exactly how long because I usually just turn "Auto" off and turn up the fan speed myself.
Wondering if this is normal operation, like it is waiting to blow any air at all until the engine reaches operating temp, or what.

It set that way so you don't just blow COLD air into the truck until the temp is warm... after the temp is reached the fan will come on with warm air.

Thanks for the input. I will be more patient next time and wait to see if it actually come on/out on its own.

Cheers.
