Dumb light question

Default Dumb light question

Ok guys, I have a really basic question that im just completly confused on right now. I went to get some new bulbs and thought Id like to get something super bright. Then I got looking on the forum here and seen HID headlights and LED headlights and I have no idea what im looking for, whats the difference. I want them in my fog lights and headlights so let me know what I need

Cheapest route for bright lights is HID...
Then, you have almighty leds.
Leds are low heat, super bright, low voltage consume, but in order to accomplish for your need of light, you need a lot of them together... And they are expensive. Check the raptor section, there is a thread in some very nice but super expensive fog light bars that use leds.

Also, check wikipedia, headlamp....

Additional facets of the thermal issues with LED headlamps reveal themselves in cold ambient temperatures. Not only can excessively low temperatures lead to the LED's light output increasing beyond the regulated maximum, but heat must in addition be effectively applied to thaw snow and ice from the front lenses, which are not heated by the comparatively small amount of infrared radiation emitted forward with the light from LEDs.[52]

Ok so HIDs I will be getting, next question is can I put them in my 3.5" lights I have on my bull bar. They are Westin lights
