Thanks summers Yes it is a specter, I will give the paper filter a shot, I only have it set up like this for the mud, once the paper one gets mud or water on it, it doesn't work worth a damn and with this one I can just clean it off and throw it back on. The piece that cracked was right before the throttle body. In the picture you see it's chrome and had a 2" band clamp onto the throttle body.

The thing I have clamped in my air box is a piece of rubber. My clamp was kind of loose and I wanted to make sure it's sealed as tight as I can get it

No filter gets mud or water if its in the sealed airbox. If you mud that much then an open filter under the hood is causing more problems than a sealed box. If the crack is after the MAF, then that's a problems as well.

the cracked piece was fixed a long time ago. I always had an issue where mud would get into the sealed air box and cake up half the filter. But I have pretty much stopped off roading at all after the my 3k dollar transmission rebuild because there water was in it. I'll try throwing in a regular paper filter and see if that changes anything. If not I'm going to have to call edge to see what they can do about it.

Try resetting the Edge to stock, perform a update through Edge's website then reinstall it on the truck. That may help.
