My truck won't pull when gear shift is in 1st or 2nd. does pull in drive but feels like its slipping. on my truck dash where the miles are words popped up and said "trans fault". and my edge evo showed a code P0731. pulled out tranny dipstick, still oil but smells a little burnt. does anyone have any idea what it might have done or have any idea of a place online i could figure out what the code means before i take it to a dealer.

Have the tranny serviced...see if that help's ($100) It don't sound good though good luck with that.

 

Mine did the same thing this morning pulling out of the driveway. I stopped and restarted the truck and it started up normal and didn't throw the "trans fault" code again. I got the same code on my evo. Not sure what the deal is yet. I did change the filter and fluid about 5k mi ago.
