Dropped socket into engine :(
Thank you for all the great advice. My roommate found a socket that looks just like the one dropped in the drive way, I have a few of them so its a tough decision but I have nearly taken the whole engine apart this week and no luck so its all going back together. I'm pretty sure I know whats going to happen when I turn the key....
lets hope!also, you can send that check to bobkyle2 now for $1500

Ive searched around a bit, I found the final repair guide for the cam phasers and tensioners but it doesnt really have detailed instructions on removing them. I have never taken the front covers off before. All I need to know is what tools I need and what else needs to come off to get the covers off. Thanks again you guys
That sucks man. I hate reading about crap like this. Nice easy job turned into something major and could be super expensive. Happens to all of us eventually though. Had something very similar happen to me while working on my jeep. I got lucky and it made it all the way to the pan. Hope you get it figured out if you haven't already.
Thank you every one for all the help. I am definitely going to buy a bigger magnet from harbor freight this week.
We tried to take the cross member off today but those bolts are in there good! I'm going to pick up a impact wrench and air compressor from harbor freight or the PX on post tomorrow for sure. I could just use the auto craft shop for 2 bucks an hour but that would include paying to tow the truck.

Today I got the oil pan off, stripping the wires on what I believe is the sensor for the oil. Oh well. And to my surprise found a TON of broken plastic pieces and dirt in the pan! But alas no socket
So I have taking the valve covers and oil pan off, probed with my magnets and still cannot find the darn thing! I just want to light the truck on fire right now. No idea what to do, there is no way I can afford to pay the dealership 2K to fix it....
