its easy...all you need is the double din install kit... and it just bolts right in... if you can take your stock radio out you can put in a double din

The double din installation kits have "ears" like the stock Ford radio uses to mount the kits outer ring to the stock mounts.

Simply put, the new aftermarket double din radio mounts to the double din "kit", then this kit mounts into the stock location using the existing mount screws.

When you buy the kit (about $15.00, give or take a few), you'll see how obvious and easy this is. Piece of cake.

Try calling Crutchfield, they will usually help out with installs even if you did not buy anything from them... very nice people when i dealt with them (a little expensive on some items)...

Default slightly changing the topic

When a person changes these radios, most wires can be changed to plug into the radio via wire harness adapters. My biggest question is what happens to the Sirius antenna? I use my Sirius every day and iv thought about changing the head unit, but i don't wanna loose my Sirius and i don't want to have to add an extra antenna hump to the roof. Anybody else dealt with this?

I know this is an old thread but I cant find what im looking for. I have an 06 f150 scab xlt with the bottom line stock HU in it. I plan on putting a double din touchscreen in and I have read in some places in the past that people have had to dremel out sections to make the install kit fit....was that in previous years or does that include the 06.
Thanks in advance.

I know for my 2004 XLT that had the stock HU, I just bought the double din kit from metra and everything fit in fine.. The brackets were a little tights so I snipped those a tad but as far as a dremal on my truck, I didn't need to do that
