Default Door Rattle

Just bought my 2007 F-150 and the front doors (passenger and drivers) rattle and knock over vibrations in the road and wont seal properly, had a fair amount of rain here in SLC and been getting drips inside the cab. I read somewhere about using some zip ties but not sure as to where. Has anyone dealt with this problem before??

Ya, I heard about that before. Dont forget to take a look at your inside bumpers. If they are mushroomed replace them.
The rattle can be caused by the door latch cable. It runs to the inside door handle and sometimes the plastic loop fastener that holds it in place breaks or doesn't keep the cable tight to the door. Zip tie it down.
You can get zipties anywhere like ZCMI down there in SLC. Oh man, I remember ZCMI

My passeger door rattles something terrible over rough road or railroad tracks as well. It actually sounds like the latch vibrating aginst the latch post on the frame. I haven't really tried to do anything about, but it is really getting on my nerves now.

Thanks for the tip CPT150. I think mine is more serious than a cable rattling.

Yeah I will. I'm going to open the door and try and see if there is slope in the hinges.

Then I'll check the bumpers and see what they look like.

Then I'll close the door and see if I can move the door in a manner to cause the noise.

Yeah its not the cable, this is the whole door shaking. I think it might be the door bumpers because it moves freely like its not latched

Anyone have a p/n, or aftermarket source, for the door bumpers?

I went to Advanced Auto and asked to see what they had. Got a set that worked for my truck so I replaced all of them to include the passenger side which didn't rattle. All rattling on both of the driver side doors are completely gone. It was driving me up a wall.

Thanks, I will give Advanced Auto a try. I hate going to my local Ford dealership. Isn't it ironic that the very place that wants to sell me a new truck has a team of salespeople that drive me as far away from the dealership as possible. You would think in this day and age that dealerships would not employe cut-throat salesmen...
