Question Door panel will not work when open??

2005 F150 4x4 Crew Cab (5.4L)

Help! The driver's door control panel will not work when the door is completely open even when truck is running and/or keys are turned on. (Windows & Locks) BUT everything DOES work when the door is half closed to fully closed. I moved the door to the open and closed position several times and the panel always disconnects when the door is at the same position.

Is this a break/short in the wiring? Other?

Does the Door-Check connect to any electrical??

Any help is appreciated!

Most likely a short in the wire harness between the door and cab. I believe that the door check does trigger the door ajar light when the door is not fully closed but, you half shut door and starts working should have nothing to do with that. I would troubleshoot the wire bundle.
