Door Handle Compatability Question.
Long time lurker, first time poster. So here goes.
Discovered last night that someone broke into our truck by punching the lock. Not happy about this at all. I planed on ordering a set of Jimmi Jammer plates to protect the inside to try and prevent another break-in.
As usual from what I've found out, the thief destroyed the door handle in the process and it has to be replaced. Rather than replace the lock cylinder to have it busted again, I was going to just do away with it entirely.
My question in regards to this is if the rear door handles from a 2007 F150 crew cab will fit in the front Driver's side door? Rather than buy extra stuff in the form of a plug for the lock cylinder hole, it'd be really great to just install a door handle that doesn't have the hole at all.
Thanks in advance!

I understand where you're coming from, but one thing to think about, what happens if you have a dead battery? Unless you can perform some super bendy arm maneuver to reach up from the underside of the truck and unlatch the hood, I'd reconsider. Just a thought for ya, not trying to be a dick.
^^^^good point.......You could always install a handle cover (one made for passenger or back door with out the key hole) over the drivers door handle....that way it would appear to have no key, and then in an emergency you could just rip it off.....
I believe I've read someone else on here who did this.

True. I have thought about that though. Unless the battery is totally depleted, I should still have enough power to unlock the doors. Even if it was parked for a long time or missing a battery I figure that I could either supply power through the 12V lead on my 7-Pin trailer connector, or even just install a lead in the front bumper to the battery terminals, and hide/protect it like you would an engine block heater to get it unlocked.
