Local shop quoted me $425 to install a leveling kit but said they don't do alignments so I would have to take it somewhere else for that. I'm guesstimating another $100 for the alignment.

What is a reasonable cost to get this installed, if I buy the HB kit myself?

Thanks

there are some thread on how to install a level kit. you don't need much for tools and you could probably buy the tools you need for the job for less then 425 including beer if you don't already have them. as far as the install goes its not a great deal of work. I can see the alignment being $100 but the 425 is money you don't really need to spend.

Yeah, I could do it myself, but what bothers me is popping off the control arm I think it is. Instructions say "be careful" I know when to call for help

Just looking for a reasonable price to expect.

any mechanic should be able to do the installation of a level kit. shop around. you are talking about 2-3 hours of work
alignment will be needed after that, and you need a computerized alignment with a machine, and that is around $80-100 in tire places.

If you were closer I would do the install for $50. Took me about 45 minutes on the left side, once I had the tools out and directions down I did the right side in 20 minutes.

Dude don't pay to have some shop do it. Just because they're called "professionals" doesn't mean they all know they're shhnit. I heard plenty of stories where peoples trucks/cars were all f'ed up after a mechanic got their hands on it. Save your money, do it yourself, gain some knowledge, feel better when it's all done. Watch a video on the install and read some write ups, it's really not hard. Don't worry too much about your upper control arms, you'd really have to be a moron to screw them up. The install just takes some force and muscle.

You don't haveto remove the upper controll arm just disconnect it from the spindle and let the spindle and lower control arm float down
it's actually a very easy install with just a couple tools a jack and jack stand
and a cold beverage to calm you down

^^What he said.

I went to the guy that works on our company van just to see how much he'd charge and he said: What's a leveling kit? and then he asked me how it went in.

Grab a buddy like I did and just do it yourself. Just make sure you have the right tools.
