Do you have a stock head unit or aftermarket?

Im seriously considering put a sub in my '06 Supercab.

What is the point of the box being so big that it goes under the middle of the seat? I was thinking of getting one that just goes under the left rear seat and mounting the amp under the middle seat.

From what i understand the box needs to have big enough air space inside the box to produce better acoustics. i hooked my sub and box up to my buddies truck and he said it hit harder then his 2 tens setup(mine is a single 12). im still working on the wiring in my truck to give my final review. but it should be done by this afternoon.
