Default dipstick problem

so i changed oil on my 05 5.4L, it calls for 6.6L of oil, i was using 4.4L jugs and i got about a jug and a half in there, so somewhere between 6.6 and 7L but i cant get a reading on the dipstick? its always half way up the stick, how is everyone else getting readings am i the only one that cant get an accurate reading with that stupid bend in the dipstick tube?

If it's half way up the stick you put in too much oil.
Maybe you didn't replace the filter?,
you have it on ramps?,
,you didn't start it before checking it,so the filter didn't get filled yet?
Book numbers aren't always correct.

If he only has 6.6-7 quarts in there's no way it's filled half way up the stick. It must be residual oil in the dipstick tube. Start the truck let it run for a min then check it. If theres still oil halfway up the stick let it sit fir a while n that residual oil should go back into the base and you may get a better result. I've never had this issue

If it were me I'd get it between the lines maybe I'm just picky like that but I've always been a believer that too much oil isn't a good thing either
