Default Diesel Fuel In Rear Diff???

Let me start off my saying that I have the limited slip with the 3.55's. I have a shutter coming from the rear end and it's the clutch packs going out. I was talking to a guy today and he said the reason why I have the shudder is that the previous owner changed the fluid and never added the friction modifier. The clutch disks are glazed and are creating the issue.

Now I have never heard of this before but he told me to empty the rear diff fluid out and fill it up with diesel fuel and run it for a mile. Then empty the diesel out and replace it with the fluid and friction modifier. Has anyone ever heard or done this? Will this really work?

Yep, I used Royal purple gear oil and a 7ounce bottle of friction modifier.
