Not sure about the trim.. I've got the same thing going on and I used automotive goop. Didn't work, and stained my headliner..

any idea what the replacement part number would be? I can't seem to find it on any diagram on fordparts.com? If its not too expensive, I'll just replace it. I'm picking up a new rubber mat for the flow through console on tuesday at the dealer (mine was strangely missing) and if I haven't found it by then I'll ask the parts desk.

They all do it. I put a little gorilla glue inside the trim, and put braces front to back to keep it in place overnight. Been holding for a year now.

the 4x4 clunk is no problem
when my buddy bought his 06' fx4 he asked what the fastest he can be going to put it in 4x4 and the salesman leaned over and switched into 4x4 hi while doing 120 kph. i thought that was nuts but they say it won't harm anything.....he bought the truck and has never had any issues with the transfer case or anything....but i wouldn't recommend it
