Default Did I buy the wrong OBD2 scanner?

Here's the one I have now,

Amazon Amazon

I have the paid forSCAN service, but I can't seem to read the live diagnostic stuff like fordtechmakuloko does in his video's and I'm wondering if I need the adapter that comes with the built in switch like this one here,

Amazon Amazon

Sorry for flooding the forum with so many posts as of late, but I'm just trying to learn as much as possible so I can be more self reliant with repairs and not have to deal with shady techs anymore.

Thank you fellas

I have the INNOVA 6200P and love it. Gives real-time data on many of the vehicle's systems, pretty sweet.

Hmmmm shouldn't forscan be able to do everything that the INNOVA 6200P does? I just bought the obd2 USB, new laptop and 1 year forscan membership, but if another couple hundred bucks spent on another type of scanner will help me diagnose/fix stuff myself instead of going to scam shops then it'll be money worth spending imho.

Thank you
