Hey ford4wd08 how is your truck doing with the mod now that you got a few miles with it? Any change in milage, any codes? Pleased with it? Been thinking about doing this mod, but wanted some input from someone with an 2008. Most of my driving is spent in the 1200 - 3500 rpm range.

I think that everyones driving is done within the 1200-3500 range! I know you want info on the 08 but here is my .02 with the 05. Since I've done this DWV mod I've seen no gain in MPG's and little if anything at WOT. IMO this is a fun mod that has no ill effect's. You will not gain anything but a little satisfaction from "customizing" the rig a little bit.

well i think ive got some better MPG numbers with it, espically on the highway, i got around 17 MPG on the last tank, pretty good amount of highway drivin in that figure but thats alot better then what i was gettin around 14-15 MPG, so maybe a little misleading number but im satisfying, and its like in the old days i get to hot rod my truck a little lol

Hey everyone! first I'd like to say I'm new to this forum and I'm glad I stumbled in to the plethora of information... Second, I wanted to put my 2 pennies in on this mod... I did the Gotts mod today along with the intake Silencer mod. and a K&N air filter... For the $$ I'm more than happy with it. It only cost me $10.00 (plus $60.00 for the optional filter) and about 45min of my time... It seems I have better throttle response, a little boost in power (more noticable closer to 3.5-4k rpm) in my 2001 F150 5.4L and a "cool" definitely noticable from stock "throaty" sound is an added bonus whe I get on it, with the stock exhaust on... I plan to eliminate the muffler tomorrow (good idea?? anyone?)... Kinda wish I did the three mods seperatly so I could report the changes that came with each one, Sorry... Anway

Alright so at high rpms when it's pullin hard the check engine light comes on. Once i get where i'm goin and turn it off the light won't come back on again till i get on the gas hard again then there's the light....suggestions? is the motor just detecting too much air coming in now?

maybe, hmm........ your best bet is to read the code if you can while drivin or something, well it controls the amount of air at the throttle body so it shouldnt be too much...... have you cleaned your maf sensor?

did you reset your computer after doing the Gotts mod???? I have this mod on my 07 4.6 & 5.4 with no problem at all. I did it over a year ago, so i figure if it was going to throw a code it would have by now. But i did reset my computer after the mod so that it would relearn the difference. If you have not reset computer i strongly suggest you do it. Tex when you put the 3 x 2 reducer on you basically did nothing for the intake. You need to hone down the end of the pcv enough to fit into the fender. This way you have a solid 3" intake flow. no restrictions. You will definately feel some better throttle response. My 4.6 responded pretty good to this mod, but my 5.4 woke up alot.I'm currently averaging 17.8 mpg in mixed driving on the 5.4.
