Default dd head unit question

Iv ordered a double din nav dvd touch screen. And just trying to know if i need a "dash kit" or not. Iv installed a bunch of songle dins over the years but never a dd. I know some times with the singles you can get away without the kit cause they come with the souround plastic piece. Iv got the wireharness on the way just trying to be prepared when ot shows up. Any input would be great. (And i have used the search option) 2004 xlt (new style) thanks folks!

Most likely you need the metro kit. I needed to replace OEM.

Metra or Scosche's kit will work great but for stability and strength I would use the Scosche kit.
