As for relief cuts, I did make cuts past the visible portion to try and help it get around the openings for the vent controls. Not sure what else I could do.
Have you guys thought about removing the vents, and overlaying some CF into the opening, just enough so that the vents lock it down and in place?

I did pull the vents and had the vinyl mold down into the vents, but the vinyl just would not stay.. I now have cut the vinyl around the vents.
It now looks more consistant.

This stuff might be too thick, that might be the problem.

I will post some pictures but I have not been driving my truck lately, just got a new car and been playing with it...

I as well took the vents out and wrapped around the opening and stuck the vinyl to the back of the panel, and then reattached the vent controls. So it was as trapped as it was going to be and it still didn't work. Just an an update it has now "bunched" below and above the controls. I'll have to get a picture when I think of it. However, interestingly enough some other spots that seemed like they were going to be trouble seem to have laid down. Not sure what the story is there :P I have thought about removing it all and adding hot glue to it to help it stay down, but I don't really feel like taking it all apart again!
