I have my own custom tune that I wrote myself and it was FREE or about an hour of work and many hours of research! I work at the dealer and made my own! Gained 3 mpg and 40-50 hp buy remapping my PCM and ECU to what I wanted them! Most custom tunes from SCT or somewhere with programmer vary from $400-$700

I had to have the tune when I installed cams in the truck! What was involved is hour and hours of research! Only way to do the programming is with an IDS or integrated diagnosis system aka ford factory scan tool! I'm actually attempting to paten the chip/tune! I originally bough a basic outlook monitor with screen that plugs into obd2 port and had an SD slot! Programmed through the PCM with IDS and added programming as well with SD card custom tune! I have a tune writer for SD installs and have been changing it up here and there to see what I can gain! My dad has a 2011 F250 with 6.7 diesel and it's 400hp and 800 ftlbs stock! Not chipped but running my "reprogram" in the PCM we dyno tested it at 453 hp and 1024 ft lbs at the tires! I have more to add but that was a test! Also he's getting 22-24 mpg average

If you already have the SCT tuner, custom tunes vary in cost from $50 to a couple hundred or more. Just read reviews to pick which tunes to go with.

If you don't have the tunes, you either have to buy the SCT tuner and custom tunes or we offer the tuner with Free custom tunes.

The last option is to buy the pro racer package like the member above did. It's the same software SCT Dealers use to tune. There is a big learning curve but if you are really wanting to learn it's pretty cool.

I taught the Tuning Program at SCT for several years and now offer the pro racer package and tuning lessons for anyone interested.

Ya my writer uses SCT based software but is more custom than the one your describing! My tunes are untraceable and will not void any warranty because it's basically invisible and can be removed in 5-10 min with proper equipment! I can write any kind of tune for any domestic and foreign car! I specialize in ford surprise lol I'm a Ford tech! And I also do a ton of Honda's and build engines as well as install turbo kits on them! Takes a lot of research to get it right and their are tons of different things that can be altered for more power or anything you can dream of!

Basically! It's a tuner writer and a tuner with SD slot to load tunes directly to PCM and other computers! That and I tune using the IDS (ford factory scan tool) can't get one of them unless you have $5,500 sitting around plus $1,600 for a racer program writer! Expensive hobby but mines paid for its self already after 1 year
